Accurate gauges (for pressure and vacuum*), clear sight glass to ensure coolant is flowing properly. Hoses and connectors are also of sufficient quality. Has worked well on 3 different cars (Honda Accord, BMW X3, Acura TL). Note: the pusher on the bottle tap was too far off center and couldn't snugly dip into the self sealing r134a canister (tried 3 different bottles). I still give the gauge set 5 stars overall because I use a tap. Therefore, the faucet that came with this gauge set was not used in my case. * for the initial vacuum, after that I rely on my digital micron. Pressure gauge for deep vacuum.
