Review on πŸ’‘ Addtam ETL Certified Power Strip with USB Ports and 5 Ft Braided Cord - Compact and Portable Desktop Small Travel Power Strip for Cruise Ship, Home, and Office Black by Matt Venable

Good device but not quite surge protection

This is a nice little device with a fabric covered cord, angled plug, 3 grounded AC outlets and 3 USB ports with maximum total current. 2.1 amps. However, I think the statement that it is also a surge protector is WRONG; I opened it up (requires a triangular screwdriver) and other than the input to the USB power supply board, there are NO transient suppression components at all (I was expecting to see 3 MOV [Metal Oxide Varistors]) that aren't just line -connected to -neutral (LN), but also from line and neutral to ground (LG and NG). Good surge arresters will have this and it will be listed on their packaging; This device doesn't mention its surge suppression abilities anywhere and appears to have only one small component at the input to the USB board. I'll keep it to myself, but I won't rely on it as a surge protector.
