I've been a fan of ratchet straps for a long time and now only use this one. This one is very different from the others and I like it. In theory. Unlike most belts, the loose end of the belt goes inward (under the buckle) rather than outward. This makes it very difficult to adjust for a comfortable fit. It also looks very strange with the strap slipping up or down. This also means that the belt size is not adjustable. With most ratchet straps, you can cut off the "tail" end of the strap to adjust the size, after which the cut end is inserted into the buckle. You will never see the cut end of the strap. But with this belt, you can't trim the length to make it smaller because the cut end doesn't go into the buckle - it's visible. The ratchet on this harness works well and is even more adjustable than a traditional ratchet harness. This strap doesn't technically use ratchets, it works with pressure and has stepless adjustment. It's also strong enough to stick wherever you put it. I recently got another strap that works with this pressure concept, but the buckle isn't strong enough to hold it, so the strap slowly unbuckles and loosens over time. If you have a small waist I would avoid this belt. It's meant to fit a waist size of 25, but that would be impractical with this belt as it would wrap around your entire back. I would not recommend this belt to anyone with a waist under 33. It's a nice buckle and the strap looks good quality too. I also prefer a wider strap. So the finish and style are good. If you have the right waist size, this is probably a five star belt. If your waist is too small like me, this is a three star belt. So I average and give four stars. Recommended for some, not for others. ** At the time of writing this review, the belt with Prime is only $7.00. It's incredibly good value for money and worth getting if you have a small waist. I'm considering buying another one, even if it's not perfect.
