Have used peripherals plugged into the hub's USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, and ethernet ports.
All work perfectly with the hub is plugged into the laptop's USB-C port. This was exactly what I wanted and a lot less expensive than Dell's docking stations (which also send power through the single USB-C port, but I didn't really care about that).
