I used it on some aluminum parts and lightly polished it so smooth you can easily read the fine print in the reflection. It doesn't take much to get a very high quality gloss. A light touch for final results is best. I love this stuff! It is very easy to use and has lasted much longer than expected. Great product and great price. I'm just looking for something to polish. Once you get results this great, you too will polish the most random and stupid things just to see the results! Lol I've read reviews saying this product doesn't work properly or makes things blurry. Test this on a small area of your aluminum. If it does NOT turn black when rubbed, try a different product. A few things to keep in mind: You may have a plastic film on your aluminum or a specific alloy that is not very suitable for this product. However, all the aluminum I've polished with it has been phenomenal. Start with a good prep and then apply with some pressure and when it turns black you know it's working. Paint all over with black, but do not let dry. Once it starts to set, wipe it all off and then apply more but with a lighter touch. Keep up the good work and use very gentle pressure for best results. You can just use your fingers if you like. It will come out like a mirror. Simply sand with a finer sandpaper until you get a 400 or 600 grit (or higher, 800-1200 if you prefer) and then use polish. You can polish rougher surfaces, but the finer you sand, the better the final polish will be.
