These strainers are very well made and durable. I use colanders in my kitchen differently almost every day so all 3 different sizes serve a purpose. For example, the smallest is used to rinse and drain a portion of berries or grapes. I will use the largest in an unusual way; like a spray upside down over an 8 inch pan. The "tip" of the strainer rests on one side of the pan and the metal part of the handle on the other, but the rest of the handle stays cool. The "tip" on all of them is a great feature because when you want to pour liquid into a bowl, the tip (along with the handle) provides grip and keeps the strainer evenly above the bowl.
