Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Officially Licensed Nintendo Switch Wireless HORIPAD (Zelda) with USB-C Connectivity - By HORI by Jeffrey Shatzel

it works but seems a lot cheaper.

Overall, the Zelda controller looks a lot cheaper in both construction and quality. For comparison, I used my Splatoon 2 Pro Controller. It's not my favorite controller, but it seems to work fine. Observations: - The actual material it is made of is a much lighter plastic. - The left and right sticks (tinted pink and green on my Splatoon controller, only blacker on the Zelda controller) are not very grippy, so with the reduced weight of the controller my hands sometimes slip when I lift or lower the controller. - Buttons have a softer feel but are taller (and in some cases not flush with the surface like my base controller). - The sticks are also taller. The Zelda decal is only on the front and center. There are no extra swirls anywhere on the all-black controller. Release buttons literally appear unfinished. As you can see in the back picture there is quite a big gap. between trigger and back shell. The back edge of the case is actually a bit sharp (not enough to cut yourself, but enough to be a distraction and make it uncomfortable). The latency with this controller seems to be slightly higher (sort of?) while my base level has latency but not too bad.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
