I don't know if I chose the wrong item or the item is defective. My intention was to connect my phone or laptop to the 1/4 input of a JBL powered speaker. I have used an adapter in the past that splits the jack output to stereo RCA and then connects the RCA to this adapter. However, this time the sound quality was poor, indicating that the speaker input was incorrect. I used to be able to do it with 1/4 in TR, but that's TRS. Maybe that's why it didn't fit me or the product is defective. Those who are going to have the best audio connection experience probably know what is right.
