They actually work well for about 20-40 uses. We use them to seal incomplete cans of dog food and chili peppers (don't get the two mixed up). We also wrap them around the incomplete bulb and just cut it off until it's gone. The trick is to warm the cloth in your hands or over a warm stove so the beeswax becomes tacky and warm, conforming to the shape and sticking to itself. After a while, the wax will migrate out of the fabric and they'll work worse and worse until it's time to throw them away. I think they will last a year and a half. Larger sizes can be cut into squares, but don't be too creative. The square is a difficult shape to improve.
