When the brand of cat food we buy for my cats removed all grains from their wet and dry food, two of my cats developed constipation. I found this dietary supplement and immediately started 1. giving each cat half a capsule morning and half in the evening and 2. slowly adding water to both the wet and dry food. It has worked wonders. The constipation went away very quickly. And the nagging problems both cats have had since they were young (one cat has dandruff, the other has itchy, inflamed ears with a daily wax coating that I had to clean almost daily, and serious problems with anal gland secretion [yes, cats suffer from it too, not only dogs but fiber and water help a lot!]) also left and never returned. The problem of anal secretions in cats is difficult to solve and going to the vet can make the problem worse as it can damage the gland. Little did I know that adding fiber and water to her stool would make her want to ditch it for good. I highly recommend hydrating your cat according to your cat's weight and very, very slowly adding more and more water to their food until they are getting the recommended daily allowance for their weight. It will also help you avoid kidney disease, which seems to affect 1 in 3 older cats. I use a spirit level to increase it by a few grams each week so they get used to the change. I add a few of their favorite treats to their meals to encourage them to finish their meal. .My cats are now much healthier and happier!
