Review on 🔊 Micca RB42 Bookshelf Speaker Pair with 4-Inch Woofer and Silk Tweeter - Dark Walnut Finish by Veronica Gonzales

I've had these speakers for a long time so I'm doing a review. These are Micca RB42 bookshelf speakers purchased from Revain for $150. They are black and wrapped in vinyl. The face is narrow, and the speakers themselves aren't exactly a foot tall, and about as deep as they are tall. They fit easily on a bookshelf, although depending on the bookshelf they can hang a bit. The construction of the column is very strong, the MDF is quite thick. When you hold it in your hands it seems that it is very well built. It's like a little piece of wood. sound now. I run them through a PS Audio Sprout 100. My sources stream through my computer and player. Favorites include Sinatra, Tori Amos, Beastie Boys, Miles Davis and Sneaker Pimps. Now for the breakdown: the highs are crisp, clear and well defined. Spicy. I wasn't expecting that since it's a 3/4" tweeter. The mids are almost excellent, when I heard Sinatra's voice, Frank's voice was rich, smooth and clear. No fuzziness or tinnyness at all. That's with all singers like that. I don't know what Micca did but they seem to match the woofer to the tweeter perfectly. Now let's talk about the minimum. This is the one area where this speaker shines most of all. If you compare the surrounding Don't measure foam, the woofer is about 3". And the sound that comes out of it is simply amazing. The bass is deep, rich and FULL. When I played Beastie Boys and Sneaker Pimps, I just shook my head. This speaker drops to at least 50Hz, maybe less. This can be due to both the depth of the speaker and the design of the connectors (rear connector). How good is the bass? Well, I have a subwoofer, one n good. I unhooked it and just listened to the speakers. NOT ONLY IS THERE NO DIFFERENCE, THE BASS IS CLEARER AND MORE POWERFUL. I don't invent. So I can tell you with certainty that if you have a two-channel system and not a home theater system, you don't need a subwoofer with these speakers. Even if you're a serious bass player, I recommend listening to these speakers on their own before hooking up a subwoofer. In terms of sound quality, these speakers are excellent. What are the disadvantages of speakers? I wish Micca offered them in colors other than black. I wish Micca would offer them in a large format version with say a 6" woofer and a 1" mixing midrange (Now that would be something!). And finally, I have to say that I live in a shared flat, so I can't push these speakers to their limits. But I can tell you that from low to mid volume these are great speakers and I highly recommend them. And they are way better - they work considering their price.
