Many people in these reviews wonder if this is really a Loma product and many cite the smell as a source of doubt. I personally have no doubt that this is a genuine product, but I have a question as to how it is stored and for how long. I bought the larger Violet shampoo and conditioner a few months ago and found it had a strong plastic odor when opened - as if the bottle had been stored in a warm place for a while and the plastic smell had seeped into the product (same as If you left the plastic bottle of water in the car in hot weather and opened it later, the smell/taste of plastic will permeate the water). The problem could also be that the product is stored for too long - essential oils oxidize over time and when they do they smell different. Both the shampoo and conditioner worked well, but scent is an important part of the appeal of Loma products and it was disappointing to find that it wasn't the nice, calming scent I experienced with the salon-bought product have. I would love to order again but this issue with my previous purchase made me a little hesitant.
