This is an amazing pairing knife. It's so light and so sharp. The molded handle offers a great grip and even if the knife is wet due to the shape, you can easily do what you need to do. It can ruin a day like no other. That's great. I chose black which can scratch and has a unique modern look that I think is worth it. As the knife ages, although the surface may show scratches, I feel the quality means I will be able to keep it sharp and will have this knife for a very long time. Hast is a newer Kickstarter-based company inspired by minimalist design, and it makes perfect sense to me that this minimalist design would extend to the kitchen as this is a unique looking set of knives. They want their knives to be fun and a staple. I really like the company's glass knife block, I think it's so unique and unlike any other I've seen. This paring knife is essential and amazing, I highly recommend it. Despite the German name, or others may say it is Old English, the German Hast means "to have" - this knife is made in the People's Republic of China. It comes with a guarantee, but you need to make sure it doesn't void it and follow the care instructions. As this is a newer company I hope they last as long as the knife.
