Great product but PLEASE READ THIS if you would like to use bleach instead.

We have been using this product on a gravel path in a small garden with many dogs for a number of years. We have three Great Danes and it works really well for us - although we buy them in bulk and put them out in warm weather as the dog run is just outside our patio. It suppresses the smell and dogs and plants thrive. I've read recommendations here to use bleach (diluted 1:10) as a better/cheaper option. Depending on the situation (concrete or gravel/grass etc.), one or more dogs etc. I'm not denying that this may be ok, just wanted to give food for thought. When the earth becomes saturated with urine, which breaks down and turns into ammonia and chlorine bleach is added, it creates a toxic gas that can cause serious respiratory illnesses if inhaled. I'm sure none of us would want our dogs to sniff it. While bleach solutions are excellent disinfectants and deodorants, especially when used to wash non-porous surfaces and to wash bedding and the like; I would caution people against pouring a bleach mixture on areas where it can mix with ammonia. I'm not trying to be scaremongering and I'm not a chemist but all I know is that as an animal lover I would appreciate it if someone brought this to my attention.
