Keyboard is cool - pretty much useless

I've been looking for something to replace my 6 year old Blackwidow X Chroma keyboard but haven't been able to find much in a long time. Most new keyboards on the market either had a really gritty "gaming" style or functionality that lacked polish. I saw an ad for this keyboard when it came out and was intrigued by the number of improvements Razer made over some of the other newer versions. The processing quality is very pleasant. I liked my previous BWXC for its military grade steel construction and now it's hard to find. I was pleasantly surprised that this new keyboard lives up to the standards of my old board.2. Elephant in space, analog switches. While they have potential, I don't find them that useful at the moment. Of course, this is subject to change and they may get more support in the future; but at the moment I haven't come across any games that use this feature. They also sometimes get in the way and get stuck. For example, when I run a game with WASD, sometimes my character keeps moving to the left even when my hand isn't touching the keyboard. I would have to press the A button again to reset it. This is rare and happens very often, but I think it's worth noting.3. Rest for the hands. While I have not used Razer palm rests before, I do know that this new one has been completely redesigned. Some of the last Razer keyboards released before this analog one didn't have a magnetically connected palm rest, which put me off buying them. However, this one is connected and is extremely durable and comfortable. I never thought I would love the palm rest so much. The LEDs on the sides of the stand/keyboard also look pretty neat if you like it.4. PBT keycaps. They are, and they appear to be a bit heavier than regular hats. Nothing to say. In general, I like the keyboard. It's kind of niche and the analog switches are useless at the moment, but the build and utility of the keyboard more than makes up for it.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
