Although the fan is made entirely of plastic, it is surprisingly durable even at its highest height. Odd that the base clearly has a place to store the remote, even though the remote isn't an option. I was surprised that it came with a dead battery. Charging took about an hour and a half. In battery mode alone, it lasts about as long with high performance. However it lasted over 7 hours at low levels which still makes for some really strong winds. I would say the battery life is about as good as you would expect. The variable speed setting is a nice touch. Definitely a good size that balances portability with efficiency.
