I just got my first cat. He's older and has thyroid problems, so he drinks LOTS of water. This refers to a lot of urine in the box. I used to have a plastic scoop that seemed to bend under the weight of his very large lumps of pee. This metal scoop was great and easy to use. The metal seems to go right through to the end of the handle. I like that the holes are bigger as it goes through the rubble much faster than the plastic holes. A bonus is the hanging hook that can be attached to whatever you choose. I put mine on the front of a tiny stainless steel trash can I bought at Walmart and used for dirty trash. Works great and attaches securely to the bin so it's out of the way and ready to use next time. Also, $8 is a great price for this as I see many others, both metal and plastic, that start at $12. Highly recommended!
