I was looking for a more structured hiding place for my guinea pig where many burrows collapse too easily and she lands on top. This is quite enough as the walls are reinforced with foam panels to keep the shape. HOWEVER I've run it in the washing machine 4 times already (wash it once a week like most guinea pig clothes) and it started falling apart after the first wash. It has a few holes that she didn't put in because that's how it came out of the wash. I have to roll out the foam in the back panel after every wash because it's not reinforced like the others to stay in place; I have to do this through one of the holes in the fabric and work until it's back in place. The floor is definitely not waterproof. You can see the light going through the fabric in the picture, so you can imagine what happens to the urine. It gets thinner and more transparent with every wash. In the other picture you can see that the raised dots on the underside of the handle have disappeared from the second wash except for one. The pros are that it's very roomy for them, cute and soft. I can cover the included pillow with a fleece baby blanket so it won't be washed for more than a day if she pees on it. She really enjoys spending time in it and it was still the only well structured bed I could find and it's not expensive but I thought it would hold up a little better than it initially did.
