DON'T SPEND MONEY

We bought this extension because it was supposed to be for mounting bikes. We transport 3 aluminum mountain bikes and a regular women's mountain bike on a Ford F-550 Thor Chateau RV that can tow 10,000 pounds. It all started well, and then we were on our way! The bike rack was pretty wobbly. That made me nervous. This was the first time we used this extender! Our journey was from Houston, Texas to Crossville, Tennessee. then to Ackerman, miss. On the way back to Houston from Mississippi, our son riding behind us said the bike rack didn't look good. We stopped, arrived and found that the weld on this extension was breaking and starting to bend. (Pictures included) Luckily he pulled his RV with the truck. I had to remove the extension cord and 1 bike. We only bought this extension for use with the RV as our 4 bike rack could only hold 3 bikes with the ladder attached to our superstructure. If our son hadn't followed us, that extension cord would likely have caused a serious accident and cost us about $3,000 on bikes and a $300 bike rack. Needless to say this is not designed for bike racks or any weight at all!
