So I have other Govee RGBW string lights (not Alexa) and will compare them. Remote control. So that's a big plus... if you have Alexa on the outside. Otherwise, you'll need your phone to manage them. I think I'd prefer a different set with a remote, too bad you can't have both remote and Alexa. I didn't think I would miss the remote control, but when my guests arrive the remote control is easier to grab and control. and the colors slowly degrade until you get to the last bulb, which isn't a big deal but is noticeable. Some are easier to hang, but most are tilted because the clip is sort of in the middle of the weight. Since the wires come out at the top it really pulls them so they flap to the side and it seems like there are fewer wires between the bulbs. When the little clip snaps into place, there's also no additional method of attachment... and it doesn't look like an interchangeable part. The old ones hang great and you can pull the wire for a cleaner install. basically the same interface as the old ones, however some features have been removed from the old ones like the ability to turn off some lightbulbs. It sucks. Meal. The old kit uses a fairly large power supply but is waterproof and a bit longer. This new set has an on/off switch in the middle of the power line and the instructions indicate that it is not waterproof. The new set is also more compact than the old ones. They are not compatible with each other and use different connections. In an ideal world I would have Alexa and a remote control. Uniform illumination of the new set. Installing the old set. The old app interface with restored functionality, or the new interface - an old waterproof power supply with a slightly longer cable for access to the socket.
