I used to use regular Crest 3D White strips. I have sensitive teeth (I'm genetically predisposed to receding gums) so I would only use these strips once a week for the recommended time. Although they are very effective, I eventually stopped using them because I knew I would be in pain the next day. At one point I remember the pain was so severe that I couldn't sleep that night. And I'm not one to use aspirin or ibuprofen unless absolutely necessary. It's not that my teeth are horribly discolored, I just hate seeing cream colored pigment on my teeth. I even thought about getting my teeth whitened professionally, but found that the cost of gum fillings and the pain that came with them wasn't worth the hassle. When I heard about them, I knew they wouldn't be as effective. They are meant for sensitive teeth and the ingredients are not that harsh. I've used them 3 times already which is way too early to tell if they work. But on the other hand, I didn't notice that the discoloration of my teeth was getting worse. I drink coffee every morning and sometimes tea in the afternoon, so I have many opportunities to get my teeth dirty. But again, I haven't noticed any additional coloring since using this product.
