Review on ๐Ÿ•น๏ธ Enhance Retro Gaming Experience with Kaico Edition OSSC Scan Converter 1.6 - SCART, Component & VGA to HDMI: Zero Lag RGB Gaming by Chris Edgerton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Expensive, small gain vs RGB/SCART alone

I have found that simply upgrading the console cable to RGB or SCART gives a 90% picture improvement while OSSC might give another 10%. The remote control on this thing is a complete joke, the controls are very complicated. The biggest problem is that there are NO fasteners on the SCART connector! The only thing holding it to the board are the solder points and it wobbles a lot. It's only a matter of time before he gets this damaged. After that, buy a SCART cable and a SCART to HDMI converter. Test the OSSC between Passthru and 5x and you should see very little improvement. Again, it's the use of SCART that gives you huge gains, not OSSC. Oh, and it's not N64 compatible, just a warning, you'll have to spend a lot more to get another box first. I have uploaded three images of the Sega Saturn game. The worst is the FBAS signal (yellow cable for video only). The other two are with OSSC, but one is PASSTHRU (no enhancements) and the other is 5X (5x line doubling), both of which use a SCART cable. You will see that it is much better between Composite and SCART, but there is little improvement between SCARTS and OSSC.
