Hiking, camping, cycling in rainy days are good. I like a bag to keep things dry. On simulated rainy days (in the shower) the main compartment of the bag keeps your things dry, this is where the zip compartment can be a problem. I noticed that some water got in. It fulfills its main function. The next test involved submerging the bag in a bucket of water. Water got in, but not enough to damage anything. There was definitely a lot in the zip pocket. I don't plan on swimming or diving with this bag, but if you do, bring a zip pocket for a few things. The buckle seemed a bit flimsy to me, I say it will fit many, but I'm just picky about the little things. I replaced it with a solid buckle. In general, he does his job.
