The only reason I bought it was to remove the wiring. While this works well, there are a few things to note: 1. The sound integration doesn't work. To get sound from your computer or external speakers, you must DISCONNECT the dock and connect it to your computer's regular outputs. If you try to connect audio directly to the dock, it fails all the time and gives you a headache.2. If you disconnect the docking station multiple times, there is no sound from the computer as it tries to send sound to the docking station. In this case, you need to restart your computer for the sound to work properly. It happens all the time. I also use it to keep my computer cool by using it as a stand. For that I give it 2 stars since stands usually cost $10-$15 anyway and it adds a few extra USB ports. DON'T SPEND MORE THAN $15 ON IT.
