Review on 📷 DOD TECH RX8W RX DOD Rearview Mirror Dash Camera with 5Hz GPS by Brent Walker

I bought this camera as a gift for my parents for one of their cars. Being new to dashcams I bought 3 different cameras (I need them for 3 cars). the results were not good. The camera was clearly out of focus. In the dark, all oncoming car lights, street lamps, and brake lights seemed so huge that they blocked everything around them (including the oncoming car). I didn't see license plates either. Tried both 1296p and 1080p. Next I tried the Dexors X7. Much better... Clear picture. No blur. I can see the license plates clearly. You can see them in the dark. I won't be able to tell what those numbers are until the car gets pretty close, but at least I can see something. Last but not least, I tried DOD TECH. The image during the day, when it's not raining, was no worse than the Dexors X7. However, there were several questions. The description on Revain states that a 64 GB microSD card is to be used. But the box says it can only work with a MicroSD card up to 32GB. I immediately went back to Revain as the description of the item was obviously wrong. But then I decided to give it a try to see if it worked and just use it for a car that only drives short distances around town. 2. When I first tried it, I noticed that when my headlights were aimed at the number plate of the car ahead, I couldn't see those numbers because of the fairly poor light (even in a very well-lit garage). ). This only happens when the surface is a reflective surface (e.g. a license plate). So not good.3. The viewing angle of this camera is only 140 degrees. Compared to the Dexors 7 and E-Prance, this camera is really at a disadvantage. On my next trip, I noticed a big difference. On Dexors I see a pedestrian immediately to the right, but on DOD I don't see a person until they're almost in front of the car. So, what to consider… Now for our comparison of the cameras: all the cameras were mounted side-by-side on the windshield at the same time and partially swapped, so our information didn't depend on where the camera was inside the car. .All were set to 1080p. Everyone had turned on WDR or HDR or something similar. All had loop recording set to 5 minutes. Everyone had the sound on. The only deviation from this was when I tested Dexors and E-Prance on the 1296P. I didn't see any real difference between 1080P and 1296P. So it didn't take long. (I bought a second Dexors 1080P camera for comparison). I also changed the recording loop to 1 minute and turned off the sound. All in all, this is a pretty decent camera. He has a clear picture. Night is ok but not as good as Dexors. And not so much in the rain either. Please note the smaller viewing angle and the fact that it doesn't handle reflective surfaces well. Other than that, it seems pretty well made and has pretty good software on the hard drive. I would recommend it for places where it doesn't rain a lot (like ours) and if you don't plan on doing much. drive at night. E-Prance and DOD have been brought back as the Dexors seem to be the better camera. I hope this helps those trying to find a good camera.
