Usually when I switch him to other foods I really have to convince him to try it but he wanted to eat this food right away. It has a strong fishy smell very similar to fish food flakes and my cat loves it. However, I gradually mixed it into his old food before replacing it entirely with this one, as switching the cat immediately to a new food can lead to gastrointestinal upset and other problems. After eating this food for just a few days, I noticed a big difference in my cat's condition. His fur felt silky and very plush instead of being really thick and flat and a little rough. He also seemed to have more energy and became unusually clingy. He's already a very affectionate, approachable cat who makes friends with almost every person or animal he meets, but he seemed to get very excited when eating and would purr when eating. He wanted to eat this food a lot more than his old one. I was surprised at how quickly his fur changed. I really didn't expect that. The only downside to this and any other dry food is that it doesn't contain enough moisture to keep your cat hydrated. I supplement this food with wet food. Even cheap wet food combined with this quality dry food is better than nothing to keep your cat hydrated. Purina makes wet food under the same brand, but now I'm better off buying dry food and cheaper wet food.
