Oxo's design is unconventional and resembles the Baskin & Robbins spoon. Very durable construction, easy to hold and use. For me, it worked best with ice cream that wasn't frozen very hard but tended to have a softer texture. It is easy to clean by hand. I do not put it in the dishwasher as it is not needed for a thorough cleaning. Good price for what it does. I should also mention that the final size of the scoop is small, but big enough for a medium sized cone.
