I can't imagine what caused all the bad reviews on this site. After giving up a few other phones, including Uniden's own 5.8GHz phone that won't even go through a wall, I finally decided to go back to cheap 900MHz analog technology and I was so glad I did had done. ! I bought one for myself and gave it a try, then bought another for my college daughter and now I'm going to buy a third to replace another low quality 900mhz unit I own (another Brand). This device is crystal clear, has incredible range, and neither device I've purchased has ever failed in the year my family has owned them. Two of these work great in the same house (do not disturb). And the headphone jack, which is very important to me and my wife, works great. Most devices have speakers that aren't impedance matched to most headsets, so you get good earpiece volume but horribly low headset volume. Not so with this device - it sounds great in both the handset and the headset (headset NOT included). And on top of that, the autoresponder works great, it is very clear and easy to use. I cannot recommend this block more highly! And it's so cheap!
