Review on 🐠 Lominie S120 Saltwater: WiFi Enabled LED Aquarium Light for Vibrant Coral Reef Tanks by Patricia Reed

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Incredibly excellent light for such a price

This flashlight is very similar to the Kessil A360WE in almost every way except it competes against the $350 flashlight. The 120S version I tested came in a very nice box and was well wrapped with foam. The lantern itself and the gooseneck look very well made and are very sturdy. The front lens is made of thick glass and has 48 LEDs tightly packed. The spacing between the LEDs is tight like Kessil and the light is diffused very well thanks to the massive lens. The full power PAR at about 20" depth was about 180 and the surface PAR at about 7" depth was in the range of 400-450. For a 4ft tank, two of these lights is enough out. I'm attaching a picture of the spectrum measurements I took for the LEDs with a 12 channel spectrometer, as well as pictures of the placement of the LEDs and the inside of the power supply. I laughed when the PSU was rated IP65, and then when I took it apart and found that this company wasn't kidding, they epoxy coated the entire PSU to prevent water damage. Overall, this flashlight offers excellent value for money. It is well constructed, has very good spectral performance and high PAR. The only downside is that there's only one remote to set up and it's not an impressive remote at all. The WiFI module is a separate device and I think I will buy it asap to use their app. TO UPDATE. PLEASE NOTE: The $19 white WiFi module is NOT for the S120 or A120, but for one of the smaller devices. As of March 8, 2021, they still haven't released the WiFi module for S120. Even my S120 light still works after almost 6 months. Still love it, just wish they had a wifi module.
