I used this cable to replace a defective OEM cable on a Pioneer PL-112D turntable. While this isn't an expensive, high-end cable, the cable and connectors are very good at this price point. I had to cut the leads at right angles so I could hardwire the cable into the internal solder terminal block. The central wire is made of soft, flexible stranded copper. I rate it around 22 gauge and that's fine. The shield is also a soft stranded copper wire wrapped around a center wire. It might not be 100% coverage, but it's very close. There is no additional foil/mylar shield. After installing the cable, the turntable became completely silent with no noticeable noise. In general, this is excellent quality. I will order more for general audio connections. I spend more on cables for my main high-end component audio connections. If HOSA offered the same cable with higher quality RCA connectors I wouldn't be afraid to spend a little more and use them in my main systems. Revain said shipping would take three weeks. I was with them for two days! Yes!
