Review on CC3D Filament Printing Printer Materials by Justin Steele

Stops in the middle of the spool

I did 1 fantastic print with this yarn, 1 decent print and then it stopped working. I'm pretty good with my 3D printer and have printed TONS of different types of PLA. My printer is pretty well set up and most major brands of PLA or so called PLA+ work fantastic on my printer. The first print was fantastic. Everything went perfectly, the print quality is excellent, the adhesion is excellent. The second print came out ok, some glitches and some badly embossed parts of the print, but overall not a failure. But after a while that coil just stopped working. I had to clear about 4 clogs because he repeatedly STOPPED the extrusion and clogged my nozzle. I've tried both the settings I originally used for my earlier prints, as well as various settings for things like print speed, hot end temperature, etc. After hours of troubleshooting, I'm still not able to extrude this material properly, and my only conclusion is that the plastic is poorly made and that halfway to the spool I encountered a section of the filament that wasn't properly "mixed" or something, and therefore wasn't extruding properly. So, lesson learned, I will no longer buy name brand yarns. It wasn't even cheaper than other PLA spools, it was simply the only "marble" filament available at the time, so I figured I shouldn't have a problem since PLA is so easy to print.
