It charges via USB cable, not batteries. Possibly economical but not so convenient with young children. It's a bit difficult for young children to figure out how to do everything that happens on screen, including taking photos. It's nice and light weight, so it would be great to take it to the zoo, the beach, etc. The photos look fine on screen, but we haven't tried downloading or printing them yet. This is a normal camera for teaching a child, but it seems to me that it is overpriced.
