My 5 rescued cats are very happy with this durable product! They often approach him to either scratch him or lay on him. Holds up pretty well to constant scratching. However, you will find waves in the area, which can be annoying after constant scratching. But it's better than furniture. I put the flat side down first, the wavy side up. When it starts to look rough, I flip it. A few weeks later I turn it over and keep changing until it's time to throw it out and replace it. My wild lifeguard Mimi loves to chew on it so she loves it (weird!)
