Not one is defective but both are defective

I charged the speakers for several hours. Plugged a 3.5mm audio jack into the jack on my smartphone and found that the jack wasn't manufactured to tight enough tolerances to stay connected. It sits in the socket and causes noise, jumps and causes the audio track to stop or start abruptly. Unusable audio jack quality control.
