The Syma X400 drone is great for drone beginners. The box and packaging itself look great and the drone is taped directly to the front so you know what you're getting when you buy it. The kit includes 2 drone batteries (big win!), an easy-to-understand remote control and a phone stand. plus remote, charging cable, interchangeable rotors, rotor protection and of course the operating instructions. A quick read of the manual gave me the information I needed to take the drone off the ground right out of the box without having to charge the batteries. I was able to shoot him inside without damage and only hit him lightly, which the rotor guard had no problem with. I had to recalibrate some settings so the drone doesn't move until I move it on the controller. One button launch, high altitude mode and headless modes are interesting settings to play with! The drone can hold a charge for around 6 minutes of flight time - which appears accurate - and the USB charge time is 90 minutes. This made it very convenient to be able to fly the drone at any time during the day and automatically land at low levels. Camera and video quality is poor. It offers live view on my phone over its own wi-fi and that's great but I'm not sure if it hits 720p as advertised, and it's definitely not high resolution. However, I expected this from a $60 drone as quality camera gear can cost thousands of dollars. I see nothing. In use, however, the controls are simple and the camera interface is functional. Overall, this x400 is a great drone for beginners to LEARN! If you want to get an idea of how to use drones before making a big purchase or teach a hobbyist how to fly one of these amazing drones then you've come to the right place!
