Review on πŸ‘• Heavy Duty Chrome Clothing Garment Rack by Simple Houseware - Optimal for Organizing Clothes by Elizabeth Thornton

Industrial design doesn't have to be rocket science.

This hanger hardly stands on its own so it gets a star for not falling over. Only one of the support pins engages properly, and that's all that keeps this post from falling to the ground. Check out the photos to see some very simple industrial design flaws and manufacturing flaws in this wardrobe. When assembled, the two main posts do not stand upright and cannot be connected to the head rail at the same time. The problem lies with the spring-loaded locking pins and their slots in the bottom of the rack. The pin slots do not extend far enough for the pins to engage when the stands are rotated 90 degrees vertically. This is a major manufacturing flaw that should be technologically trivial these days. How difficult is it to weld something at the right angle or cut a groove long enough? It doesn't have to be rocket science.

Pros
  • Extendable top horizontal bar 40.15" to 65.35"
Cons
  • This is driving me crazy
