A Note: When using this device on a portable device such as an iPad, the protective cover may prevent the connector from being fully inserted into the USB-C socket. The body of the device acts like molded insulation around the USB-C metal shell and as such is several inches "thick" and does not fit the normal molded opening of protective cases. It is better to insert the USB-C dongle plug through the protective cover on the tablet into the socket as far as it will go. When used WITHOUT a case and with only one USB-C port on the tablet, this device fits snugly on top of the tablet and doesn't dangle around like a key. Conversely, when used with a recent Macbook model that has two adjacent USB-C ports on each side, this device will easily connect to one of the two but close the other, rendering it inaccessible. Here, too, two dongles on short cables can be plugged into two USB-C ports that are close together and do not interfere mechanically. Apart from these mechanical limitations of this type of case, the device works properly and supports various devices properly. specified for connection to a USB-C port.
