I bought this for my son's PS4 Slim. It uses an external hard drive and a Sony Platinum wireless headset. Thus, two USB ports appeared (thanks to Sony). I bought a laptop cooler to raise and support the cooler for his PS4 and it is USB powered. I bought this so he can plug in his headset and cooler, not a hard drive. The hard drive requires more power than this hub can provide. I'm glad I had the power adapter handy because his headset wasn't working properly. The Sony Platinum headset was muted while he spoke and so was the audio. The only solution was to power this hub and its headset is not working properly. I also like the ability to turn off power on each individual port. I recommend this hub to expand available PS4 Slim USB ports. I also recommend buying a power adapter.
