I hesitated to buy a "shock collar" for my dog because it always seemed uncomfortable. However, after watching a few videos on proper usage, I decided to give it a try as my dog would not obey when walking (chasing other animals, cars, etc.) and it wasn't safe. I looked at many other collars before settling on this one because it had good reviews and was a little cheaper than many others. In short, the collar arrived very quickly and everything looked great. I took everything out of the box and started playing with it (read the instructions for idiots!). Everything is very intuitive and easy to understand. I put the collar around my arm to see how it would feel, and on the lowest levels the bumps are barely noticeable. When I turned it on, I liked that the discharges were unignorable, but they weren't as "sick" as I expected. I finally tried it on my dog and it worked great. When she didn't show up I hit the chime and when I was ignored I gave her a quick 'smack' that stopped her. She ran again so I made another beep and then a punch and she came running back to me. Without going into too much detail, suffice it to say that I am very impressed with how fast and efficient this type of training is. Even my beautiful girlfriend who can be quite stubborn. I've been using this collar for about a week and I'm very happy with it. I don't even use electric shocks anymore, just honk, and then, on those rare moments when she's still not listening, I vibrate and she comes running. I even found out (when I finally broke down and went through the instructions) that it has a bright light on the collar so I can see my dog better at night. Fun little feature. Although it has only been a week since I started using it there is no doubt that this collar works very well and will last a long time.
