Very simple -- in this case we needed two things -- first, the sleeves had to be big enough to hold real credit cards so they could be easily removed and reinserted. Second, the plastic cases and body had to be strong enough to withstand at least occasional use without cracking or becoming brittle. Short answer: after many failed attempts to find something that combines the two, this one turned out to be the winner. Easily insert and remove all types of plastic credit cards. The case and sleeves are strong and you can fill each slot with a card and it still closes and won't weigh or strain. We bought two to start with and will be using more for other types of cards, business cards and the like. The search for a good card holder (whether archive or everyday) has come to an end. We've found one that fits the bill.
