Review on Lap Pro MOBI-GO! Portable Phablet and Phone Prop/Stand - Soft, Perfect for Desk, Car Dashboard, and Travel by Josh Lockhart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Much more than a phone stand - it can turn a trackball into a vertical mouse!

Perhaps the most unorthodox recommendation of all reviews: I use this stand as a base for a wireless mouse! A few years ago I developed carpal tunnel syndrome on my right wrist. I switched to Microsoft's long-mourned trackball with the mouse ball on the side under my thumb and all my symptoms went away. Even after many hours a day and years of use, my thumb and the rest of my hand felt no pain or discomfort. When Microsoft dropped that line, I switched to Logitech, wired first, and then Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball, Computer Wireless Mouse, Long Range Wireless Mouse ll. My arm was fine, but over the years I've noticed discomfort in my neck and shoulder. I once bought my wife a vertical mouse, the kind where your hand rests on the side of the mouse and your thumb is up. When I tried it I noticed that my neck and shoulder were more comfortable. It had the same effect as using a can opener with a top handle (try this) versus a side handle: the top rotation causes your arm and shoulder to be in a very uncomfortable crooked position. I was determined to find a way to convert my thumb mouse to a vertical format. I found many examples of users building their own when I stumbled across the MOBI-GO booth and the result is a marriage made in heaven! The right edge of my M570 fits perfectly into the MOBI-GO's bottom slot, positioning my hand in a near-vertical orientation, which is more comfortable than being fully vertical. I've added a mouse pad with gel wrist rest (Kensington Duo Gel Mouse Pad with Wrist Rest - Blue (K62401AM)) and I can work for hours without pain or discomfort! It may not be what you intended with your product. , MOBI-GO, but you've found a creative and effective solution to a problem many mouse users suffer from. I hope others try this and I will post a copy of this review on the M570 product page.
