in the photo it is difficult to tell whether it is dark brown or light brown. This is the lighter side of brown with a nice distressed look. I bought it for Breakout which is painted red with a little bit of chrome and lots of black. I love how red and brown look together. This is a good bag. Actually, this is my second one I've bought. I have a black one for my Sportster. ;-) Oh, and I'm not sure what all the talk about using zip ties and cutting new holes is. On a padded subframe (I have a 2013) it fits perfectly with the three straps provided.
