It's fast, but keep your expectations in check.

So I bought this product and paired it with my 2019 Macbook Pro, my 5TB Western Digital hard drive, my 1TB G-Drive SSD and my 1TB Used Sandisk Extreme SSD. The Sabrent XTRM is exactly that (extremely fast). I have the 1TB option because I don't use it for storage (BUT THERE IS SPACE IN CASE), I use it to speed up my editing and file transfer workflow. Well, this product is lightning fast, but you need to keep your expectations in check as its speed will vary depending on the other product it is reading or writing information from. For example, when transferring files from my Macbook, the actual numbers are 4-8 minutes per 20GB. Compare that to 1-2 minute file transfers between SABRENT and my other 20GB SSDs. So don't assume that SABRENT will do everything in a flash as it depends on the device it is communicating with. Having said that, I knew this thing was definitely a game changer when trying to move 650GB of data from my G-Drive to my WD HD. What I did was transfer it to SABRENT (SSD TO SSD) first, it took 18 MINUTES. READ THIS AGAIN (18 MINUTES TO MOVE 650GB, WOW). It took 45 MINUTES from SABRENT to WD HD. Now compare this with my G-Drive directly to my WD HD. The same 650 GB took an estimated 2.5 hours. THE BEST OF IT.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Good but not great
