I was worried about all the "unreliable" and "just cardboard" reviews but they work great. I will buy more. I have many hobby magazines on my bookshelves that bend and fall on top of each other when I try to pull one out to read. Yes, the holders are just cardboard, but they work great and keep the magazines from swinging when you need to pull them off the shelf. When unfolding the holders, be sure to place a thumb on each flattened corner as you open. This prevents creases forming in the middle of the file holder. Based on other reviews I taped the joint corners together but didn't really feel the need - I do it just in case. The magazines I keep here are issues of White Dwarf and Hobby Japan magazines (both modeling and hobby magazines) and they are quite heavy. Although the holders are cardboard they seem to hold 10 Hobby Japans and 14 White Dwarfs upright and stable with no problem.
