Bought these because I needed a pair of speakers regardless of the sound quality. In that regard, they work well. Play a video on Youtube and I can easily understand the spoken words. However, when I didn't play the audio, there was a buzzing noise. I've found that plugging the USB into a wall charger reduces this significantly, but it's still annoying, especially since I often have to use my headphones with it, which makes the problem worse. I would advise avoiding anything that uses USB for power. There's a point where it gets too cheap and that's it.
