A way to fit an original Honda gas cap

I installed this on a 2009 Honda CR-V. Having no experience with this, the Q&A wasn't very helpful and I couldn't find any instructions online. I'm not sure if this is the right way, but it worked for me. Useful tools: small hooked pliers and a small flathead screwdriver. Step 1: Open the fuel cap compartment door. With the bay door fully open, look at the small black box that attaches the plastic tank cap cable to the bay door. If you look straight down you'll see that it goes through the metal of the coupe door's 'hinge'. The part that sticks out at the back is a clip. To release the small black wire retainer that you must do to insert the new wire attached to the new tank cap, you must squeeze the sides of the clip by gently pulling on the small black box cover. To do this (which will take a few tries depending on how coordinated you are when working in tight spaces) I used a small pair of hook pliers. I approached the clamp from below, secured it with pliers and squeezed it. Then, with my other hand, I wiggled and tugged at the little black cap until it was all out, leaving an empty hole in the gas cap compartment door. Step 2: Then, using a small flathead screwdriver, open the end of the clip by gently inserting the screwdriver into the back of the clip and twisting it slightly - the clip will open (locate the back and remember how it installs on the car - "front" is the front of the small black box (the face that was parallel to the side of the compartment door) and the "back" is directly opposite the front). Once opened, lift the end of the old cable, insert the new cable attached to the new tank cap and snap the clip into place. without pointing upwards), put on the new tank cap and you're done! Aside from the complete lack of instructions, this seems like the perfect fix for the "Check fuel cap" message.
