Following a fruitless search for an antenna that could boost the signal in all directions, I settled on the idea of using this gadget in place of an antenna (a decent antenna costs 2 times more). I tried it, but it didn't work for me. I'm going to try it again with a new router that has two antennas; perhaps the result will be the same. At the very least, I'll be able to eat the router:) With its positives being: the maker, the construction quality, and the purpose. In more remote areas, the signal is strengthened through amplification. Produces a network with the specified SSID as the original. Some potential drawbacks include the lack of color options (although white is now an option), and the possibility that the size could be reduced. Never did figure out how to make it function correctly. It is now possible to enter only the admin panel of the repeater after launching the utility at the regular address of the router. At first, I didn't want to work with WEP encryption because it says a password of 5 characters is too small; put 10 characters instead. Even after increasing the length of the password to ten characters, the connection was still unsuccessful because the password was too long. After changing the encryption type to WPA PSK2, which was required of me, the setup procedure appeared to have been completed properly, but there were now two networks with the same name. Despite this, the Internet signal from the repeater suddenly ceased flowing through and did not exist for one single second. Resetting the device multiple times, performing a manual installation, and updating the firmware did not work. It's possible that the Zyxel 660 HTW router is getting on in years already. Maybe it's the crooked pens:) I was unable to locate the option to change the channel; number one is the default setting. To be honest, the signal continued to improve and is now about 8-10 db stronger.
