Review on Rugged Ridge 18265 22 Shackle Wrangler by Robert Bigelow

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Before you buy, look carefully at the list of spare parts

I bought these to replace a broken factory front and rear brace on my 1987 Wrangler. If you've ever worked on the suspension of older cars you know that the bolts on the bushings rust and the bushings are welded to the bushings and usually need to be cut and shredded to pull them out. extra jacks and jacks that cost me an additional $45 to complete the install. Nuts and bolts are garbage. The jackbolts (designed as locknuts) are out of tolerance and 75% of the bolts that came with this kit broke when I tightened them with a 1/2" ratchet and I don't trust the 3 that don't do. So, like everyone else, I replaced them with Tier 8 gear. Buttercups are a joke. The bolts sit so tightly in the bushings that the grease still does not get into the bushings. The struts themselves are strong, but in the time I've spent looking for new bushings and bolts I could make them myself and save myself a lot of trouble. I would avoid this kit. I rated them 3 stars because it was mostly my fault for not checking the parts list carefully before ordering. It's up to me
