Easy to use. A great addition to the rest of the stainless steel items in our kitchen. Get batteries, sea salt, peppercorns, and batteries in advance. Both require 4 AA batteries. You'll be ready and wanting to use them right away. They're fun if you like kitchen appliances. We have received many compliments from guests on these salt and pepper grinders. Excellent purchase!
