Review on πŸ”§ Carlisle 36631800 Straight Double Foam Handle with Plated-Black Rubber Coating by Clay Elmer

Great scraper, but you need an electric drill to fix crappy assembly parts.

This is a fairly good quality scraper (Made in Belgium) at a fraction of the price of similar products that include a broom/holder. However, this is a REAL bad buy if you don't have a drill because while the metal ring around the bottom of the mounting hardware can theoretically be adjusted and secured to the handle, the screw that you have to loosen and tighten appropriately gets stuck and comes loose easily, when you try to remove it. I have more time than money right now, so I didn't mind doing a little MacGyvering to save a few bucks. I think you can drill out the screw, but it's easier to take a bolt cutter and cut the metal sleeve in half and then use pliers to remove it. If you cut it you will also need to drill a second hole at the bottom. Metal fasteners, opposite the existing hole on the side, to allow you to pass a screw from the fasteners on one side through the broom handle from the fasteners on the other side. (If you have a long bolt with a matching nut, it would be better. But I only had one bolt, so instead of a nut, I just covered the end with a blob of epoxy putty.) It took five to 10 minutes overall, but I live in an apartment and don't have a workbench with tools ready. A real instrumentalist could do it in a minute or two.
